The Bush Book: a manual for managing native vegetation
Bush Book – A manual for managing native vegetation
across northern Australia.
launched by Gerry Wood MLA April 2010.
Northern Australia is truly one of the last relatively intact landscapes in the world. That is not to say there aren’t problems. Invasive weeds, feral animals, fire, soil erosion and declining water quality pose a serious threat to north Australian environments. Finally here is a manual that can be used by people who live on bush blocks or people who have a passion for managing, maintaining and improving the condition of our unique north Australian bushland environments.
The Bush Book is a collection of chapters and case studies based on people’s practical bushland management work. Material has been contributed by over seventy authors who live and work in northern Australia and edited by Maria Kraatz from EnviroNorth Environmental Consultants NT, Peter Jacklyn from Tropical Savannas CRC NT, and Mike Clark from Greening Australia.

Andrew McMillan’s An Intruder’s Guide To East Arnhem Land is part history, part journalism, part literature, part love story with a people and a place. The writing is both edgy and contemporary; a narrative of history in remote Australia where the echoes of the past continue to resonate with us today. Passionate, sensitive, witty and surprising, this book will give you a sense of Australia and national identity you have never known before.

Leslie Richards has spent over 20 years sailing across Northern Australia noting and recording safe anchorages along one of the worlds most pristine coasts. This is must have resource for anyone considering sailing along the north-west coast of Australia and contains details of over 130 anchorages. Each entry includes cross reference to relevant navigation charts, Australian National Tide Tables, a description of the anchorage, and a mud map.
